BRIAN BORU & IRISH IN BRITAIN - IRISH HERITAGE ARCHIVES PROJECT
As the UK's OLDEST Club established in 1889 (perhaps even before) and in collaboration with Irish In Britain and its 50th Anniversary, we would love to hear from you and record your stories and experiences of emmigration from Ireland and your time here in the UK and the Brian Boru.
By telling the story of the Irish in Britain, this project will help to educate the public in migration and the modern history of Britain and Ireland.
As part of our commitment to this project we will document and preserve the life stories of people of Irish heritage in Britain and the valuable contribution they have made through the recording and archiving of oral history interviews.
Further to our participation in the project and with a HUGE history we are hopeful to create a "heritage room" of our own here at the Brian Boru and are keen to receive your artefacts, photos and memorabilia for display so that we can look back at the memories of our great club here in Ashton.
If you are interested to partake or have a family member you feel may be suitable for the oral history recordings or have artefacts, photos or memorabilia to submit, please do get in touch.
We will hopefully soon be arranging an evening to progress this project, so if you feel you can contribute please do get in touch and watch this space for more details.
