On behalf of the Brian Boru Club - EST 1889 committe can we offer a massively HUGE congratulations to Ashton Ccé on their participation in the Northern Regional Fleadh.
We are SO immensely proud to have this amazing group of talented musicians, singers and dancers be part of the club since 1972, looking at the results today it is surly in safe hands and long may it continue
NORTHERN REGION FLEADH 2024
The temperature and the nerves were high all day, but despite that we managed to compete in the largest number of competitions that Ashton CCÉ has done for several years.
And we SMASHED it
1st place 12-15 banjo
1st place under 12 Grupa Ceol
1st place senior bodhran
2nd place under 12 button box
2nd place under 12 duet
2nd place senior banjo
Which means the whole class are through to the All Britain finals at the end of June.
Along with that we gave a fine demonstration of our Irish language skills with the entire hall joining in with "if you're happy and you know it" as gaeilge.
I can safely say that me and Ray are immensely proud of all of them, not only for their playing, but brilliant attitudes and behaviour. A big thank you to all the parents, grandparents, carers, aunts, uncles and next doors cats for supporting today. Remember the hard work starts here.....
Go raibh maith agaibh
Alan (tired, hungry and very smiley)
