THE MCGOLDRICK SISTERS & FRIENDS – LIVE

🎶 LIVE AT THE BRIAN BORU – SATURDAY 15TH NOVEMBER 🎶

The McGoldrick Sisters & Friends – from 8PM ONWARDS ☘

Join us for a night of exceptional traditional Irish music as The McGoldrick Sisters & Friends take to the stage at the Brian Boru Irish Club, Wigan! 🌟

The trio is made up of Manchester-born sisters Catherine (flute & whistles) and Ciara (concertina, whistles & vocals), joined by the brilliant Tom Keenan on guitar.

Catherine and Ciara have been immersed in Irish music from a young age, learning their craft through Comhaltas and One Education Music, and later honing their skills at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Now regulars on the traditional music circuit, they’ve performed at top festivals including Celtic Connections, Craic by the Creek, Birmingham Tradfest, Knutsford, and Bromyard Folk Festival.

Their music ranges from lively, foot-tapping jigs and reels to haunting love songs and soulful airs – a vibrant celebration of Irish and Scottish tradition. The sisters are also key members of the renowned McGoldrick Family Band, alongside their uncle, Manchester flute legend Mike McGoldrick, and cousin Mairead Hussey, who have been hugely influential in their musical journey.

Earlier this year they released their debut album, One for the Road, and recently featured on Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Show on BBC Radio 2.

They’re joined on stage by Tom Keenan, a rising star from County Down, whose fresh, energetic guitar accompaniment is fast making waves in the Irish trad scene. Also a skilled banjo, bouzouki and mandolin player, Tom has already performed with trad greats like Tara Howley, John McSherry, and Kevin Meehan.
